The LG Electronics Cricket Breakfast is a business breakfast that is sponsored by LG Electronics’ Air Solutions Business Unit in conjunction with the Business Day newspaper. The event was organised by Corporate Sport, a subsidiary of Sportspro, an organisation known for facilitating sporting breakfasts that allow the public to get up and personal with the elite sporting icons of South Africa.

A handful of HVAC clients were also among the corporate clients to be invited for the fully booked event.

During the event, various LG Electronics executives as well as their honoured guests got to engage with the prestigious speakers of the day: South African Protea cricket captain Faf du Plessis and the top test bowler in the world, Kagiso (KG) Rabada. They were also available for autographs and photos in the foyer before the event.

Cy Kim, MD of LG Electronics SA, said a few words before breakfast officially got under way, welcoming everyone and sharing some insight into why LG has been involved in cricket for so many years.

After breakfast, a lucky draw and auction of sports memorabilia followed.

The MC for the day, former cricket player Pat Symcox, then highlighted some career highlights and statistics for Rabada and Du Plessis before calling them to the stage for the exciting Q&A session. The players discussed everything from the upcoming World Cup to team selection and some behind-the-scenes titbits.

The discussion was lively and Symcox hammered the sporting celebrities with a mix of questions of his own and those submitted from the audience.
